Improving society without intent or reward. An absolute mess of musing, misgivings, and miscellany.

Quote

If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.
— John Stuart Mill, English philosopher (1806-1873)

Calvin & Hobbes “The Future”.  Fanart from an unknown creator.  I would really love to know who created this piece.  Perfectly captures how many of us feel about growing up but not old as we guide our children.

Quote

The best thing to give your enemy is forgiveness; to an opponent, tolerance; to a friend, your heart; to your child, a good example; to a father, deference; to your mother, conduct that will make her proud of you; to yourself, respect; to all men, charity.
Francis Maitland Balfour, Zoologist(1851-1882)

Entrepreneurial Ideas #1

I often find myself mulling over ideas that I think would make promising business ventures.  Then I snap back into reality and realize that currently my available time, resources, and motivation to take on more tasks completely erodes any chance that I’ll ever pursue these ideas beyond the initial notion.  And yet the ideas linger, often diverting my mind from more pressing endeavours.  To the purpose of clearing my mind to enhance its efficiency, here I will now dump these ideas out into the collective conscious of the web, nevermore to trouble my thoughts.

Business Idea #1

Customizeable little girls purses.  Parents love buying things for their children.  And for parents with money, if those purchases make their children more fashionable, cuter, or more popular, the item is even more of a sure thing.  With the current market for little girls purses providing poor quality and minimal selection, there’s a potential niche for high quality designer bags for this demographic.  Providing customization options enhances value for the customer by ensuring uniqueness of the final product and broadening the potential customer pool by appealing to various tastes through the customization possibilities. The basic purse designs could remain constant, while customization would be through selecting discrete embellishments such as outer fabric type and color, sequins, beading, tassels, and strap types.  This product would be targetted at wealthy consumers looking for premium quality gifts for the children in their life.
